How much security is there on cruises ?

I’m going with a couple friends to a cruise around the Caribbean and we are departing from Mexico. We have a little grass that we want to take on board but we don’t know how much security there is on normal 7 day - not too expensive cruises. Do they check you? Any personal experiences, feel free.

    For cruise it is too great to jeopardize my whole vacation just for me the port of departure what you pay for cruise it is just for cruise it is just for cruise it is just my opinion.
